Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add a plant?

Tap the + button on the home screen or inside any room. You can name your plant, pick a species, set a room, and attach a photo. Once saved, you can configure watering, fertilising, and repotting schedules — FloraMind will remind you automatically.

How do watering reminders work, and why didn't I get a notification?

Reminders are local on-device notifications — no internet connection needed. When a care task comes due, FloraMind triggers a notification at the scheduled time.

If you didn't receive one, check: (1) notification permissions for FloraMind in your device Settings, (2) whether you have Quiet Hours configured inside the app (Settings → Notifications → Quiet Hours) that may have silenced it, and (3) that Do Not Disturb / Focus mode on your device isn't blocking app notifications.

I used the app as a guest — will my plants be saved if I create an account?

Yes. When you create an account (or log in for the first time) on a device that already has guest plants, FloraMind uploads your local plant library to your new account automatically. Nothing is lost. After that, your data syncs across all devices where you sign in.

How does AI plant identification and health diagnosis work?

Tap the camera icon on any plant card and submit a photo. FloraMind sends the image to our server, which uses Google Gemini to analyse it and return an identification result or health assessment in your selected language. Photos submitted for identification or diagnosis are not stored by us — they are held in memory only for the length of the request. Photos you save to a plant, or to a wild-plant discovery, are stored — see the next question.

Identification, diagnosis and discovery scans are each capped per day, per account and per device, and requests may also be refused once our overall daily AI budget is reached.

Who can see the photos I save to a plant or a discovery?

Photos you save to a plant, and photos attached to wild-plant discoveries, are uploaded to our image storage and kept until you delete the plant, the discovery, or your account.

Those photos are stored on a public bucket at predictable web addresses, so anyone who has or guesses the address can open them without signing in. They are not password-protected. Please avoid photographing anything you would not want seen by someone outside the app — the inside of your home, documents, other people, or anything that shows where you live. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my account and data?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account inside the app. Deletion is immediate — your user record, plants, care schedules and logs, scan and diagnosis history, discoveries (including their stored coordinates), authentication tokens and all stored photos are removed straight away. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored data from that device but does not by itself delete your account. If you need help with deletion, email us at the address above.

What languages is FloraMind available in?

FloraMind is available in English, German, Romanian, French, Dutch, and Polish. The app follows your device language automatically; you can also override it in Settings → Language. AI identification results are returned in whichever language you have selected.
